Securing a Place in Nursery

Anyone with a child who qualifies for the 30 hours funding who is interested in their child attending Whitehill’s 30 hour nursery, should complete and return a 30-Hour Nursery Expression of Interest Form. Anyone with a child who qualifies for the universal 15 hours funding who is interested in their child attending Whitehill’s 15 hour nursery, should complete and return a 15-Hour Nursery Expression of Interest Form

Nursery sessions can only be renewed at the start of every old term, term 2, term 4 and term 6. Parent contracts will be drawn up and given to parents before children can attend the nursery. Children have to attend a minimum of two sessions per week.

Before we admit any child, we will need to complete an identity check. To do this, we will need to see verification of the child’s date of birth. This can take the form of a birth certificate, passport  or in some cases, a doctor’s letter that includes the child’s name and date of birth. With your permission we will hold a copy of this document in the student’s file. We then have a record of the passport or birth certificate number which is vital to processing applications. The copied document will remain in the child’s school file in a secured cabinet and will move with the child to their following schools when they leave. Please see the Trust Privacy Notice for more information.

We cannot guarantee that we will be able to offer either a place or the exact sessions you ask for, but we will do our very best to accommodate you.

As stated in the school Admissions Policy, when the nursery is oversubscribed, priority is not given to the date of application, but will be given to applications in the following order:

  1. Children who are in the care of the local authority or being provided with accommodation by a local authority
  2. Children who have medical health, social and special access requirements
  3. Children who have a sibling who will be attending the School
  4. Children who have a parent who is a member of staff who has been employed for a minimum of two years and/or are recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skills shortage.
  5. Nearness of the child’s home to the school – with those children living nearer being given priority
