Average Scaled Scores

The Government uses scaled scores to report the results of tests so they can make accurate performance comparisons over time. Scaled scores range from 80 to 120. The total number of marks a pupil achieves in each test subject (raw score) is converted into a scaled score to ensure accurate comparisons can be made over time, even if the difficulty of the test itself varies.

Progress Scores

Children in Year 6 during the 2023/2024 academic year would have been in Year 2 in 2019/2020.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, statutory Key Stage 1 (KS1) assessments were cancelled in 2020. Consequently, these students do not have official KS1 assessment outcomes. This absence of KS1 data affects the calculation of progress measures for Key Stage 2 (KS2) in the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic years. As a result, progress measures will not be published for these years.
