Weekly Bulletin: Friday 12th September 2025
This week the children continue to make fabulous progress with settling into new routines and also with their learning. It has been lovely to hear them chat about what they have enjoyed in school. We have learnt a great deal from their conversations. We have some extremely enthusiastic Year 4 pupils who have spoken informatively about their science learning. One student explained why sound cannot travel in a vacuum. Another student explained how sound travels in waves and that humans can only hear certain frequencies of sound. Well done to our pupils! You continue to impress us!
We have noticed improvements in the students' punctuality and attendance. Thank you for your patience and encouragement with this!

We would like to give a BIG shout out to the parents who have donated food to our new foodbank. These are financially difficult times for many in our community. Your kindness will make a difference. Thank you! Please speak to Miss Gardner if you think the Foodbank would be of use to you.
If you any concerns about your child in school please speak to a member of staff and be patient whilst they organise support. We advise you do not to take school matters into your own hands as they can be quite complex and emotive. The school has a zero-tolerance approach to any individual who behaves aggressively or who uses vulgar or inappropriate language towards members of staff, parents, visitors or students. It is unacceptable for any member of our community to be exposed to these behaviours especially our children. It will not be tolerated.
We are excited at the prospect of a fresh year or learning and the opportunities that it holds to work with you to support the children's learning. We would like to invite you all to our Meet the Teacher Event. This event will take place on September 24th at 15:45. The session will start with a brief meeting in the Key Stage 2 Hall and be followed by an opportunity all to hear teaching staff presentations on the curriculum and how you can support your children in their learning. We hope that you are able to attend and look forward to seeing you there!
Wishing you a lovely weekend,
Best wishes,

Attendance
The foundations of learning are laid in the Primary years of schooling and so Whitehill Primary School is committed to making sure that our children do not miss out on the education and care that we offer. Regular attendance is critical if our pupils are to be happy, successful and benefit from the opportunities presented to them now and in the future.
Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience. We actively promote 100% attendance for all our pupils and we use a variety of rewards and incentives to promote good attendance and punctuality. Awards are group focused rather than given to individuals as we recognise that our students cannot help being absent for medical reasons.
This week, the class with the best attendance is Lemon Class with 99%. Well done Lemon Class! Keep up the good work!
