The Decus Educational Trust

Weekly Bulletin: Friday 13th February 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been another week that truly reflects the strength of our school community and the partnership we share.

I would like to begin by saying a huge thank you for the fabulous turnout at this week’s Early Years Foundation Stage Stay and Play sessions. It was wonderful to see so many parents and carers in school, engaging so positively with the activities and spending time learning alongside their children. The feedback we received has been incredibly uplifting – thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.

My sincere thanks also go to our Nursery and Reception staff, who organised and delivered such a range of fun, purposeful and engaging activities. Their dedication to creating meaningful learning experiences, and to building strong relationships with families, is something we are very proud of.

Across the rest of the school, I would like to commend all of our pupils for the determination and focus they have shown during recent assessment tests. They have approached these with maturity and resilience, giving their very best effort. We consistently remind the children that assessments are simply one way for us to understand what they know and how we can best support them – and they have certainly demonstrated positive attitudes throughout.

Recently, we wrote to you regarding our wish to recruit a Parent Governor to join our governing body. At present, we have not yet had anyone put themselves forward for this important role. There is still time to express your interest, and I would warmly encourage you to consider whether this might be something you could contribute to. Being a parent governor is a valuable opportunity to support the strategic direction of the school and to represent the parent community.

If you are interested or would simply like to find out more before making a decision, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. I would be very happy to talk through what the role involves and answer any questions you may have.

Thank you, as always, for your continued support, engagement and trust. It is a privilege to lead such a committed and caring school community.

Wishing you all a safe half term break. We look forward to seeing you all on your return on Monday 23rd February.

Warmest regards,
