Whitehill Primary School & Nursery

The Decus Educational Trust

Weekly Bulletin: Friday 3rd October 2025

Dear Parents & Carers,

The week has been filled with many joyful and impressive moments. It was a delight to hear the Whitehill Primary School Choir sing during our Celebration Assembly. Thank you and well done to all of you. You sang Firework so beautifully!

Week on week, we are noticing significant developmental changes in the children and the progress is very pleasing to see. Today, we were blown away by how well our youngest of children are doing in class. We were made to feel very welcome in the nursery. The children had been learning about their emotions and could explain how characters in the book, "Colour Monsters" have different emotions. They were very keen to show us the salt dough Colour Monsters that they had made and have invited us back to see them when they are painted. They were amazingly good at taking turns talking and listening to one another. Well done Nursery. You are fab!

Thank you for supporting the school with census day. It was great to see so many of our students enjoying a school dinner and knowing that their participation is making a difference to our future funding.

Thank you to the PTA and all those who helped and supported with the school fete! We really appreciate it. It was lots of fun on the day and truly a triumph with over £1,700 raised for the school. Please read a heartfelt message from our PTA:

 Attendance

The foundations of learning are laid in the Primary years of schooling and so Whitehill Primary School is committed to making sure that our children do not miss out on the education and care that we offer. Regular attendance is critical if our pupils are to be happy, successful and benefit from the opportunities presented to them now and in the future.

Good attendance is fundamental to a successful and fulfilling school experience. We actively promote 100% attendance for all our pupils and we use a variety of rewards and incentives to promote good attendance and punctuality. Awards are group focused rather than given to individuals as we recognise that our students cannot help being absent for medical reasons.
