Weekly Bulletin: Friday 6th March 2026
Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

What a truly wonderful week it has been at Whitehill Primary, filled with the joy of sharing a good book together and celebrating World Book Day. Across the school there has been a real buzz of enthusiasm for reading, and it was fantastic to see the incredible creativity and diversity of costumes worn by both pupils and staff. From classic storybook characters to modern favourites, the imagination on display was simply brilliant.
World Book Day 2026
We were also especially fortunate to enjoy a gloriously sunny day for the celebrations. The children were able to make the most of the beautiful weather and proudly show off their wonderful costumes without them being hidden beneath winter coats!
It was incredibly heartwarming to see so many parents and carers attending our Morning Tea and Reading events. There was something very special about watching children settle down with a book alongside someone important to them. The smiles, laughter and shared moments of storytelling perfectly captured the spirit of World Book Day. Thank you to everyone who joined us—your support helped make these events truly memorable.
For staff, including myself, it was an absolute joy to spend time reading alongside you with our pupils. We enjoyed a wonderful range of stories together, from thrilling pirate adventures to fascinating non-fiction books full of interesting facts and discoveries. Moments like these remind us just how powerful and enjoyable reading can be.
Adding to the excitement of the week, on Monday we welcomed the CEO and members of the Central Team from the Aletheia Academies Trust. They were keen to see how the Whitehill community is thriving and to learn more about the progress we are making as we continue to strengthen our provision for the children. Thank you to those parents and carers who took the time to speak with them at the school gate or during the reading events—it was wonderful for them to hear directly from our school community.
Finally, we have noticed a slight improvement in our attendance. I am absolutely delighted to share this news.
Having the vast majority of our pupils in school and learning together each day makes a real and measurable difference to their education, progress and wellbeing. Thank you for your continued support in helping us achieve this excellent result.
It has truly been a week full of stories, sunshine and shared learning—a reminder of just how special the Whitehill community is.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Warmest regards,
