Weekly Bulletin: Friday 6th September 2024
Dear Parents, Carers & Families,
As we start a fresh academic year, we are delighted to see familiar faces return and new faces join. Welcome everyone!
We are very impressed with how quickly the children are settling into their new classes. It is lovely to watch new relationships form and old friendships being rekindled. There is a purposeful and contented calmness around the school with routines being quickly established and impeccable behaviour being observed.
There is no doubt that we are seeing the beginnings of a fabulous year of fun, learning and achievements! Please say well done to your children for completing their first week in school with such confidence and positivity.
We are especially pleased with how well our youngest children have transitioned into school. Our new Reception and Nursery children, have made a brilliant start, with finding their way around, making friendships and engaging with learning opportunities - Well done!
In assembly this week, we (in Years 1-6) discussed what hope is and some of the children and staff shared their hopes for the future. We reminded children of our values:
Through a story, we illustrated how observing each of these values can help with making hopes a reality. Please talk to your child about their hopes and our five values. The children were very insightful in assembly and we feel sure that they will be able to articulate what they learnt to you!
Much has been happening in school over the Summer break, in addition to the roof repairs, various enhancements have been made to the school environment.
Community Artist, Ayesha Weekes, arranged the children’s kiln fired clay art so that it forms two sculptures. She has been in and mounted this art work in two of the school’s communal areas. The Key Stage 2 sculpture is on display in the main foyer and the Key Stage 1 in the Key Stage 1 foyer.
Community Art Work - Final Sculptures
With Ayesha’s teaching and guidance, the children have created some absolutely stunning work - Well done to all of our super artists and thank you Ayesha!
Andy Pinder, the mural artist, has also been back into school and brightened up our main foyer with some more of his ‘paint magic.’ This time, his art captures the school’s aspirations and values. We are certain that Andy’s art will bring both inspiration and cheer to the community - Thank you Andy!

We have a great deal planned for the year ahead, much of which we would love for you to be involved in. Please make a note of the dates below:
Have a lovely week everyone.
Best wishes,
Angela Carpenter
