Safeguarding

Safeguarding is about protecting children, young people and adults at risk.  It also means helping children to grow up into confident, healthy and happy adults.

Children enjoy generally happy childhood experiences. Unfortunately for some, this is not the case. During difficult times, everyone who knows the child must do the best they can to protect them from future harm.

You could be a neighbour, friend, relative, childminder, or working for any organisation which has contact with children and young people.  Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility.  Regardless of how you know the child, if you see or hear something that worries you it’s always good to trust your instinct and talk to somebody about it.  Talk to us.  Schools play an essential role in protecting children from abuse and neglect. We have a statutory duty to support children and families, including by working with colleagues in other agencies.  Please help us to help others.

To report a concern about a child, please email carpentera@whitehillprimary.com
