Overview
Roles & Responsibilities
• To develop specific knowledge relating to the needs of children to ensure that they can access learning and subsequently make progress.
• To record the impact of interventions and feed this back to teachers to ensure that the provision is having impact.
• To be an active participant in the creation and adaptation of provision maps, behaviour plans, risk assessments, care plans including intimate.
• To deliver bespoke support for pupils, ensuring wellbeing, safety and access to learning.
• To support children to regulate their emotions and behaviours
• To assist with shaping students’ individualised behaviour plans and actively embody the agreed actions
• To administer physical interventions such as intimate care and the administration of medications such as insulin.
• To be an advocate for students when they are in unstructured situations such as lunch time play and ensure that they are appropriately supported.
• Running group and individual interventions which may include:
• Identifying and reducing barriers to learning through providing scaffolding
• Under the guidance of the teachers, develop appropriate resources to support children.
• Take initiative and be responsive to the students' needs; providing support for individual children inside and outside the classroom to encourage social skills and regulated behaviours.
• To understand and effectively deliver both pastoral and academic interventions.
• Communicating with parents and caring; ensuring there is two-way communication between home and school.
• On the rare occasion, provide cover to the teacher

Salary: AAT C: £19,544-£20,326 (£25,252-£26,262 Full-time All Year Round Equivalent)
